Birthday in Hocking Hills

For Dylan's birthday this year we decided to rent a cabin in Hocking Hills, OH. Old Man's Cave is a well-known name in the Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio. A favorite hiking destination, Old Man's Cave Ohio is arguably the most popular of the six areas at Hocking Hills State Park. A mile-long gorge at Old Man's Cave displays a variety of geologic features, including waterfalls, sandstone cliffs and rock formations with names like the Devil's Bathtub, Sphinx Head, Eagle Rock and Whale in the Wall. Old Man's Cave is also home to the 149-foot-tall hemlock that's said to be the tallest tree in Ohio. The name Old Man's Cave refers to the rock shelter that was once the home of Richard Rowe, a 19th-century hermit who is said to be buried beneath a cave ledge on the premises.

The day we planned to hike into Old Man's Cave Ryan got sick so Gabe and Dylan went together while Ryan and I stayed back at the Cabin.

 We celebrated with a Mario cake.

 We never finish a whole cake so Gabe put the last of it to good use...

 It was a nice relaxing weekend.

Dayton Dragon's Game, Baseball and Fishing

Took the boys on their first official camping trip. The original plan was to hit the local KSO but YIKES!...it was not a campground made for tents. It was so tight with campers we moved on to the next campground nearby.

The boys did a great job fishing. They had no problems with the worms. I, however, did not do so well. I can't quite get there with the worms.

Gabe's office was given a club box at the Dayton Dragon's Stadium. I was excited to see the local minor league team play. They are known to sell out every game so getting VIP treatment was a pretty big deal.
